| Siu Chong is an information architect and information designer. She has created software interfaces for stock trading firms and transportation providers. Siu’s undergraduate training began at Brooklyn Technical High School in the area of Media Communications Technology while simultaneously pursuing additional studies at NYC Technical College and The Cooper Union. She received a BFA degree in Communication Design from Parsons School of Design in '96.
In 2007, Siu completed her MFA degree in area of Design+Technology at Parsons. Her love of typography inspired her thesis "Typometrics: A Computational Method for Objective Typeface Classification."
As co-founder & partner at Spire ID, she oversees and art directs information design projects as well as corporate and promotional design projects for clients such as BMW of North America. She also consults for Siegel & Gale, a strategic branding firm, as an information architect.
Siu Chong has also consulted as an information designer at the Parsons Institute for Information Mapping at New School University. She had taught GUI Design in the Communication Design Dept at Parsons, as well as areas of interactive design, web design process, graphic design, and typography. She was also a guest panel speaker at the CAA conference on the topic of "Information Mapping the Graphic User Interface."
